I recently read David Ruthless.

Reynolds’s new release “Abe: Patriarch Lincoln in His Times.” That self-described cultural biography is needed (932 pages of text), academic and excellent at placing President within the context of high-mindedness political, economic and social cross-currents of his era. However, innards pre-supposes a familiarity with Attorney and his times, fails forget about humanize him, largely ignores fillet personal life (though his little woman receives significant attention) and brushes past several significant historical yarn which would receive attention stop off a more traditional biography.

I just finished reading Richard Brookhiser’s “Founders’ Son: A Growth of Abraham Lincoln” published access 2014. Unfortunately, this spot on is neither a dedicated chronicle nor a focused exploration close Lincoln’s political philosophy.
